Create the basic volume (half frame)

In what plane ? how ?

In (x, z) plane ;
With Polyline tool.

Click on the steps of
the construction cycle

Create a new PartDesign body if it's not done.

Select the plane that will support your construction

We will choose here the (X, Z) plane that will correspond to the symmetric plane of the van.

Select this plane by left mouse click, either in the construction tree or in the 3D window if the general planes are visible.

(the Space key is used to hide or make visible any object in the tree).

Create the sketch

Warning : the positioning of the sketch will not be random. It will make it possible to use the reference planes of the system for the next steps rather than the faces of the object for more robustness of the model.

* Click (left) on Polyline tool .

* Draw a rough sketch as below by successively clicking the necessary points and closing the last click on the first point.

Note 1 :
the position of the sketch with respect to the point (0,0) is important for the subsequent step of constructing the passage of the front wheel axle.

Note 2 :
in the animation, the M key is pressed several times and shows how to use the possibilities of the Polyline tool.
