Create a recess on the rim

Questions to ask yourself before you start :

Select the plane that will support your construction

The choice of the drawing's positioning in the sketch of the previous step gives two possible choices to start the new sketch :

- the green flat face inside the wheel,

- XZ plane (coinciding with the previous plane face).

(more stability of the model).

In our simple example, we will be satisfied with the flat face of our object.

Select this face by clicking on it with the left mouse button in the 3D window.

Create the sketch

* Click (left) on Polyline tool.

Place your points as in the picture :

(Rigth click / Escape to leave Rectangle tool)

* Draw the construction lines with Line tool.

Constrain the sketch

1- Position the entities of the sketch.

a- Check that the entities have all been oriented correctly (horizontal, vertical, angle of inclination, ...);

b- Add what is missing;

c- Fill in the particular positions (PointOnPoint, PointOnLine, ...);

d- Position a strategic point in relation to the origin of the system.

2- Size your sketch

Rate methodically, for example :

a- Horizontal dimensions;

b- Vertical dimensions;

c- Radius or diameters ...

Note : the sketch must be completely constraint
(all entities green).

and close it.

Create the material

1 - Select the sketch in the tree if it is not.

2 - Select the feature you want to use.
With the sketch selected in the tree,
click onto extrude the sketch.

3 - Define the parameters of the feature :

and valid by OK.
