Classic construction principle with the PartDesign WB

Select the plan which will be the support for your sketch : In PartDesign WB, you will start your construction from a plane sketch, therefore drawn in a construction plane, then add volume to your construction. To select a construction plane, simply click with the mouse, either on the graphical representation of the plane, or on its name in the construction tree :
If your FreeCAD experience allows you, if necessary you can also create a specific reference plane.
To select an obligatory flat construction face (obviously if material already exists!), simply click with the mouse on this face on the 3D view of the object before creating a new sketch :

Note :
When you have created a sketch in a plane, it is possible to offset it relative to this plane using its
Attachment > Attachment Offset > Position properties.
The Z axis is then the axis perpendicular to the plane of the sketch.
